Elegant Speaker Stands For Less than $30

While having a surround sound setup is nice, and even more so having it paired with a decent reciever is better, having the speakers at the proper listening height is important.  At our old place, we stacked milk crates under the speakers to elevate them to approximately the right height but the new house deserved better.  So my brother and I embarked upon a journey of pine, wood glue, air nailers and wood stain.

Home Brew Beer

A hobby of mine, one which I knew I’d want to undertake even before I’d even really tasted beer, is brewing my own beer.  To date, I’ve only actually brewed two batches of my own beer, but I’ve been present for and aided with the brewing of a few different batches of beer ranging from complete extract to using specialty grains to partial mashes.  I’ve yet to be present for an all-grain brew, but from what I understand its just more of the same with partial mash brewing.

Two days ago, I bottled my second batch.  Ideally I’d be kegging the beer so it’d be more readily consumable and less likely that I’d be getting yeast in my pours, but at this point its cost prohibitive.  One day though, I’ll work out my own homebrew kegerator.
